im doing a project with windows mobile .net framework
and i need to track every page with google analytics
therefore i create a web browser on every page and hidden it
the web browser will include a local html page
the html page has embed google analytics
however if i use traditional method or async method to integrate GA, it will throw js error with unspecified error, but the html is working if i put it to webserver
therefore i build a GA tracking image url to log the pageview and visitor count, however i found that the cookie can not be save, those every page will generate a new visitor count
any advise
If I understand your question correctly, you are simply trying to add GA tracking to your
WP7 app. If that is the case, you do not have to use a web browser or a tracking image to accomplish this. There is a project over on GitHub that will allow you to do this right in your .xaml pages.
https://github.com/maartenba/GoogleAnalyticsTracker
Get the code, compile it and add a reference to the lib in your phone project, then in your xaml code behind:
Loaded += (s, e) => {
using (var tracker = new Tracker("UA-XXXXXXXX-X", "appname")) {
tracker.TrackPageView("MainPage", "Main");
}
};
Put your GA account info in there for the Tracker object
And presto, you have GA tracking.

I was asked to implement FullCalendar for our company's web application to pull in a calendar from Google Calendar. I have imported and referenced the JS and CSS files to where I am getting the calendar to appear to appear on the page configured the way that we want, however, there no events showing up.
I saw on the FullCalendar site a note, "If you need to detect errors with the Google API ... You'll need to use the FullCalendar's googleCalendarError callback ..." But there was no examples and no documentation on how to perform this. I Googled for examples and found no code examples of how to do this so that I could debug what was happening and why the calendar appears structurally, but with no calendar data. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Update: After playing with the gcal.html demo example that comes with FullCalendar, I was able to get my calendar to work and show event information in gcal.html. However, in my MVC .net application there is a JS error stating "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()" and it shows my MVC view page address on my local machine appended with the google calendar id, along with start and end dates. I am wondering where I go from here to get my calendar to appear in my MVC .net web application view page and pull event information from Google.
My client created a website and a google analytics account. The report indicates that the account is receiving data -- and yet, when we do a view-source of the pages of the site, there is definitely absolutely no analytics code there. How is this posssible?
It is possible that the Analytics code is added via Javascript, not appearing in the "View Source" page. It is also possible for it not to appear in the inspector either.
I do not know how this happens, but I have encountered scripts that exist and run although they are not displayed in either the source page or the live DOM inspector (in Google Chrome). This happened to me while loading a PHP template containing Javascript through an Ajax request.
If you have access to the source code of your website, search the entire project for for the Analytics ID (Here's how to find it: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1032385?hl=en), and you'll locate your tracking code.
If your project is running on a Linux server, here's a post about how to quickly find a keyword (like the Analytics ID) in a folder: How do I find all files containing specific text on Linux?
In my endeavour to gain use of the Youtube API I am required to follow the procedure defined here.
In this link there exists a Prerequisites section that states:
Register your application with Google so that it can submit API
requests.
This takes me here which is a page Titled: "Registering your Application". This page contains instructions stating:
To register a new application, do the following:
Enter the Google Cloud Console https: //cloud.google.com/console [hit my link limit LOL]
Select a project, or create a new one.
In the sidebar on the left, select APIs & auth. In the list of APIs, make sure the status is ON for the YouTube Data API v3.
In the sidebar on the left, select Registered apps.
I have done all of the above. I have also clicked on the project taking me to another page. I am however, unable to register the application.
My question to you is "Where do I find the "Registered apps" because it's not in the sidebar on the left.
Google even provide a video on the instructional page stepping you through it. Unfortunately the video appears to be for an older site.
I am running Firefox 25.0.1. and it doesn't work for me so any guidance would be appreciated.
Instead of Registered Apps, in new version you'll go Credentials under API's and Auth and create your keys there.
I tried everything to help you out but i couldn't find "Registered Apps" too. Have you ever tried "Credentials" ? I think it works for the same way.
They don't care much about updates i guess. That's why they did not renew the instructions and the video..
I have a page in wordpress. And I developed an android application that calls to word press's rest api , to retrieve existing pages in json format. Then I parse json and display in application.
My question is that, does my requests to rest api, affect page view in google analytics?
Regards
Ceyhun
The answer to your question is: NO.
the reason is as simple as the fact the there is no html being loaded when you make a JSON request.
the analytics api is a javascript code that is being loaded with the page in your site but JSON pages are just pages with a string inside of them.
so there is no real HTML being loaded > the analytics code is not activated.
If you want users to count in your analytics you should use the Analytics SDK
I want to provide a button in my commercial Windows Forms desktop application which just opens a link to maps.google.com (Google Maps) in a webbrowser control or in the user's default Web Browser with the start and destination address populated. I just String.Format the parameters into a URL, I end up with a URL like this:
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=SUNBURY+Victoria+Australia&daddr=MORNINGTON+Victoria+Australia
and then open that URL with the webbrowser control, or associated app calling Process.Start and passing in the URL, like this:
Dim URL as String = "http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=SUNBURY+Victoria+Australia&daddr=MORNINGTON+Victoria+Australia"
If _useWebBrowser then
webbrowser1.Navigate(URL)
Else
Dim sInfo As New ProcessStartInfo(URL)
Process.Start(sInfo)
End If
I am not using the API here (am I?), just linking to the Google's maps site with a URL with a start and end address, but I am now worried this might violate terms of service of some kind. I can't find any good definition of this anywhere.
The closest I can find, on the Google "Permissions" page for Maps, everything else relates to use of the APIs:
http://www.google.com.au/permissions/geoguidelines.html
Feel free to use a hyperlink on your website or within your application to send users to Google Maps — we appreciate it! Our one request is that you do not use the Google or Google Maps logos as the hyperlink. Please just use text or another image of your choice.
Can I legally create a URL programmatically, and call that URL in a webbrowser control, IE, Chrome, etc?
I am completely confused.
So you just have a link that opens the Google Maps website in a web browser (which includes a webbrowser control)? And you're not using a Google logo for the link? That's fine! As they said, they appreciate it. :-)
Generating the link dynamically doesn't change that. And no, you're not using the Maps API, so the API terms of service don't apply.
